Our story

Prancer’s Farm was founded in 2019 by Mario and Vanessa Robledo, alongside their three daughters, Olivia, Hailey, and Klarize, as a family-run agricultural operation rooted in tradition, community, and hands-on farming experiences.

Our journey began years earlier in the City of Ventura. In 2010, after Mario Robledo concluded a ten-year career as a police officer with the City of Oxnard Police Department under an honorable medical retirement, our family opened our first Christmas tree lot, Prancer’s Village, located along the 101 Freeway and Johnson Drive. Mario invested his lifelong dream of building a family farm—one where his deep-rooted farming experience displayed by his parents Felipe and Maragarita Robledo and love for farm animals could be shared with the public.

What began as a small seasonal Christmas tree lot with borrowed farm animals quickly grew into a beloved pumpkin patch and Christmas village, serving the Ventura community for over a decade. In 2022, we made the heartfelt decision to close Prancer’s Village in Ventura to dedicate our full focus, passion, and vision toward expanding Prancer’s Farm in Santa Paula.

Today, Prancer’s Farm spans 42 acres of working farmland and operates 365 days a year. Our property includes two farmhouses, a year-round farmers market fruit stand, and a wide variety of agricultural, educational, and family-friendly experiences designed to connect visitors to the land and the agricultural heritage of the Heritage Valley.

In 2019, our family acquired the Fillmore Equestrian Center from the City of Fillmore. Originally established in 1972 as a horse boarding facility, the property has undergone extensive improvements under our care. The Property has been renamed as Prancer’s Farm, Equestrian Ranch, now fully operating in the City of Fillmore.

The ranch hosts horseback trail riding, western-themed birthday parties, petting zoo experiences, equestrian activities, and community programs. It is proudly home to the roping club, Sespe 4-H, Bardsdale 4-H, pig breeding projects for the Ventura County Fair, and numerous equestrian and agricultural events throughout the year.

Our oldest daughter, Olivia, has taken her passion for agriculture to the next level—expanding the roots of our family farm beyond Ventura County and into the City of Palmdale, Los Angeles

Olivia helped launch Prancer’s Farm Village, a ranch-style pumpkin patch and Christmas tree experience designed to make farm life accessible to urban communities.

Our fruits from our labor are reaching out to Las Vegas, Orange County, San Diego, Calabasas and many more locations through our direct to table farmers markets.
