In 2019, our family acquired the Fillmore Equestrian Center from the City of Fillmore. Originally established in 1972 as a horse boarding facility, the property has undergone extensive improvements under our care. In 2026, it officially became Prancer’s Equestrian Ranch, now fully operating in the City of Fillmore.
The ranch hosts horseback trail riding, western-themed birthday parties, petting zoo experiences, equestrian activities, and community programs. It is proudly home to the roping club, Sespe 4-H, Bardsdale 4-H, pig breeding projects for the Ventura County Fair, and numerous equestrian and agricultural events throughout the year.
Prancer’s Equestrian Ranch, Private Trail Ride Experience
At Prancer’s Equestrian Ranch, the well-being of our guests and horses is our highest priority. To uphold our safety standards and protect our horses, we enforce a maximum rider weight limit of 250 pounds. Management and professional wranglers reserve the right to restrict or deny riding access—either on specific trails rides—based on rider weight, skill level, physical condition, weather, horse health, or any situation that may compromise safety. All safety-related decisions are final and are not eligible for refunds or discounts.
Safety-Focused, Expert-Led Riding We maintain a calm, reliable, and well-trained herd of horses suited for riders of all experience levels. Experienced wranglers are present at all times to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, especially for first-time riders. Guests receive clear instruction, helpful riding tips, and a full overview of ranch rules and safety protocols before departure.
Each rider is carefully matched with an appropriate horse by our head wranglers based on individual ability and comfort level, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable ride.
You Set the Pace – Private Trail Rides
We specialize in small, private group trail rides offered on Saturdays and Sundays, providing a peaceful and personalized experience. Scenic rides explore the stunning Heritage Valley in Fillmore, California, passing through orchards, nurseries, private farmland, and open valley landscapes.
Guests may encounter local wildlife such as deer and free-range animals and may even spot California condors soaring overhead from the nearby Sespe Condor Sanctuary.
Complimentary Farm Experience
Each rider is invited to enjoy complimentary strawberry picking at Prancer’s Farm in Santa Paula, located just six miles away. Guests may also explore our farmers market, feed our cows, visit the petting zoo, and immerse themselves in a full day of hands-on farm life.
